My Order Arrived and I’m Not Happy With It — What Should I Do?
We take pride in delivering high-quality, perishable products across the country—but sometimes, things don’t go as planned. That’s why this is the first FAQ we address.
If your order arrives in unsatisfactory condition, you must report the issue within 12 hours of receiving your package.
Because our products are perishable, we require clear photo or video documentation of the issue immediately upon delivery. This helps us verify what went wrong and make it right. We're more than happy to replace your order when valid concerns are documented.
⚠️ Important: We cannot issue any credits or replacements without photos or video.
Please understand that claims such as “it smelled bad” or “I didn’t have time to take a picture” alone, unfortunately, cannot be accepted.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation—it helps us ensure every customer receives the quality they deserve.
Can I have my order shipped to a UPS "holding" location?
Yes, you may choose to ship your order to a UPS holding or third-party pickup location. However, please note that we are not responsible for any issues with orders not delivered directly to your home.
If you opt to use a third-party location, it is entirely your responsibility to monitor tracking updates and retrieve your package promptly. Delays in pickup can affect the quality of your perishable order, and we cannot offer replacements or refunds in these cases.
We kindly ask that you consider this when choosing your delivery option, and thank you for understanding our commitment to maintaining product integrity.

When will my order ship?
Orders are typically fulfilled within 1–2 business days of being received. We ship Monday through Wednesday until 12 PM EST. Orders placed after the Wednesday cutoff will be processed and shipped the following Monday to ensure freshness.
Transit time usually ranges from 1–3 days, depending on your location relative to our fulfillment centers. Because our products are perishable, we aim to have all deliveries arrive during the week to avoid weekend delays.
Every order is packed with dry ice to keep your items cold and freezer-ready upon arrival.

What is Dry Ice?
Dry Ice is another term for solid carbon dioxide. You know that carbon dioxide ("CO2") is the gas we exhale every time we breathe. When CO2 gas is compressed, it changes to CO2 solid.
Why do we use Dry Ice?
Dry Ice is very cold. In fact, its surface temperature is approximately -110°F, much colder than regular ice, which has a surface temperature of 32°F. Because Dry Ice is so cold, it is an excellent refrigerant to keep perishable food products cool until they arrive to you, the customer.
Why Wasn’t There Any Dry Ice Left in My Package?
Great question! Dry ice is very different from regular ice. Instead of melting into liquid, it transforms directly from a solid to a gas—a process called sublimation. Because of this, it gradually "disappears" during transit.
The dry ice we use typically lasts 48 to 72 hours, depending on conditions. Since we ship our products to arrive within 1–2 days, it’s completely normal for little or no dry ice to remain when your package is delivered.
As long as your food is still cold upon arrival, it’s safe and ready to go straight into your freezer!
I weighed my chicken and it's under 16 ounces. Why?
Each portion is labeled as 16 ounces including the liquid content. Our flavored chicken breast options are packed with delicious marinades or sauces, along with the chicken’s own natural juices. These liquids are part of the total package weight.
If you're looking for a full 16 ounces of chicken breast without any added liquid, we recommend choosing our Plain or Pre-Contest Plain varieties, which are free of marinades and sauces.

What's the Auto-Delivery program & how does it work?
Our Auto-Delivery program is a convenient way to keep your favorite items coming—without the hassle of reordering. You’ll receive your products on a customizable shipping schedule and enjoy special savings just for subscribing.
When you place a Hassle-Free Subscription order, your first shipment will be billed and processed right away. Future shipments will automatically follow your selected schedule and be billed at the current Auto-Delivery price available at that time (plus shipping and handling). From time to time, we may offer special sign-up pricing or promotions—these apply to your first order, while subsequent orders reflect the ongoing Auto-Delivery rate.
There’s no obligation—it's completely risk-free. You can cancel anytime up to 72 hours before your next scheduled shipment.

I entered the wrong address; CAN I CHANGE IT?
We can only make a change within a REASONABLE TIMEFRAME AFTER YOUR ORDER IS PLACED. Once your order has been packed and/or left our facility we can not make any changes. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU (OR YOUR COMPUTER) HAS ENTERED YOUR INFORMATION INCORRECTLY! PLEASE PROOFREAD YOUR ADDRESS PRIOR TO PLACING YOUR ORDER.
Can The Chicken Pound help with my meal prep?
Heck yeah! That’s what we’re here for! If all we do is provide you with chicken, think of how much time and effort that saves you! You can always throw together a salad, steam some veggies or bake a potato. But do you feel like cleaning, cooking, cutting and grilling chicken???? We thought not! Look, you guys are busy burning fat, building muscle and getting strong and healthy… We’re busy cooking!
Is your chicken organic?
No. Our products are hormone and antibiotic-free; but not organic. We will be adding an organic line in the future. Our chicken is sourced from within the USA and raised in a humane manner.
What makes us different?
Simple… We use the best ingredients and have the best process in place; with the most experienced health and wellness chef in the industry.
Are the flavors bland?
We don't think so!!! But, keep in mind that we ONLY USE ALL-NATURAL INGREDIENTS! What does that mean? It means that we use real ingredients, not oils, starches, binders, sugars and other fancy fillers that are typically used by food companies that will add weight and calories to their products. We're all-natural and proud!
Why do we freeze our chicken?
Come on man! That “we deliver fresh” b.s. claim is old news! It’s not fresh, it’s left-overs! We don’t serve left-overs. Everyone tries to sell you on “fresh never frozen”, but then they’ll suggest that you freeze it yourself if you don’t eat it! We’re here to tell you that they’re all nuts! We won’t do that to you! We flash-freeze because it’s simply the most proven method to keep your chicken moist, tender, and most importantly… FRESH!
I live local.. can I pick up my order?
Unfortunately, no. We apologize for the inconvenience.
How does my chicken arrive?
Most often chicken arrives completely frozen. Depending on the temperature and time of year, however, some thawing may occur. This does not mean that your product’s integrity has been compromised. Place your items in the refrigerator or freeze immediately upon receiving them.
Proper Storage
Instructions are on each package… You can refrigerate or freeze your chicken upon receiving it. Refrigeration shelf life is 4-5 days, freezer shelf life is 60 days. Please watch this video!
Is there a minimum order?
No. We do recommend at least a Five Pounder to get the best bang for your buck!
My package was delivered but I was not home to receive it. Who is responsible?
All customers receive a confirmation email from UPS once your order is tendered. We use the email that you provide us on your order. UPS sends updates as well as notifications once the order has been delivered. It is the SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER to ensure that the products are retrieved in a timely manner. The Chicken Pound is NOT RESPONSIBLE for orders that are not retrieved in a timely manner.
